Venues & Tickets

These are the primary locations where Lavenham Players' productions have been performed. We have traditionally used the Lavenham Village Hall, and we will continue to do so, but we are also exploring all manner of ideas which we hope take to audiences at some interesting new locations.

Lavenham Village Hall

Seats around 100 with raked seating

The main hall and St. Peter and St. Paul room are the spaces that we have used on most of the indoor productions. A large and airy space which is fairly adaptable. Most of the shows that we have performed there have been presented in the archway and floor area directly in front, with the rear space in the St. Peter and St. Paul room serving as the cast area and props.

The auditorium is a difficult space acoustically, but we have usually managed to make ourselves heard! The upper room has been used on many of the productions for rehearsals and read-throughs.

Our schedule of forthcoming productions and events includes plans to stage a winter play here at the Lavenham Village Hall. The play itself has not been decided just yet, but it is likely to be performed towards the end of 2018.

Lavenham Guildhall

Our social and spritual home

The magnificent Lavenham Guildhall is a gem in the centre of the village. Situated in the Market Square, it s a beautiful example of a grand timber-framed Tudor building, which has stood on this site for some 500 years.

For Lavenham Players, this has become our new home. A cosy and quaint hub for our social  and committee meetings as well as a venue for performances.

Old Buckenham Hall

A delightful country school with a theatrical space

Old Buckenham Hall (OBH), is actually a few miles outside of Lavenham in a small hamlet of Brettenham. The building is a private preparatory school set in beautifully manicured gardens and is itself quite majestic.

Lavenham Players were offered the use of the theatre facilities in 2018, where we put on a gala show in June of that year. We were able to take full advantage of the incredible facilities here, and the support and assistance that was extended to us by the headmaster and staff.
